Yes my friends, it is true. Abobo did make a glorious appearance on the Neo Geo in a fighting game based on the Double Dragon movie, which he was also in (see Story 13).
And just like in the movie, Abobo looks nothing like the Abobo we've come to know and love. In fact, he looks even less Abobo-like than Bo Abobo from the Double Dragon movie which he was based upon. Take a gander my friends.
Sure, Abobo hasn't lost his muscle, but he's lost his charm, his charisma, and most of all, his sex appeal. He resembles Zangief from Street Fighter II, if you will.
But to keep in line with the movie, Abobo does turn into a genetic freak at regular intervals, such as when he executes a special move or wins a match.
See the resemblance? If not, here it is again.
That's right, Technos felt the need to stick in digitized pictures from the movie, INCLUDING the now infamous mutated Bo Abobo picture, to help us remember one of the lowest lows of Abobo's career. "But BkdTatrHrt", you say, "Maybe this isn't the real Abobo, but Bo Abobo from the Double Dragon movie."
That's what you'd like to believe. If that were the case, than this Abobo would go by the handle of Bo Abobo, but unfortunately, he does not, there-by soiling the reputation of the one TRUE Abobo.
I believe that this Abobo should be arrested for fraud and impersonating the true Abobo! Don't believe that this Abobo is an imposter? Then take a look at this:
TWELVE victory quotes from this Abobo, and NONE of them have the word "smash" in them. And since when has the real Abobo been so articulate?
And we ALL know that Abobo would never turn down skins from Marian. This is clearly not our Abobo at all. Even the ending has evidence against the imposter:
This Abobo inherits the power of the shadow master and does what with it? EAT MEAT. Come on! We all know the real Abobo, upon inheriting dark powers, would instantly use them to vanquish the Lee Brothers and destroy all the conveyer belts in the world, not eat first.
With all of this evidence, I have no choice but to stand firm and proclaim that this Abobo is indeed an imposter, but one man's opinion doesn't matter in today's world. That's why it's up to you, Abobo.com web surfers, to hand down the final verdict.
Is the Neo Geo Abobo in fact the Abobo from the old days with a new look, or is it an imposter trying to pose as greatness? YOU make the call!
